About the Franklin Community Education Foundation
We can close the gap. Franklin Central School, along with all NY small school districts, is being threatened by a looming problem of increased costs and declining enrollment. Unfunded state mandates and decreased state aid have caused a gap resulting in elimination of school programs and reductions of jobs. Franklin Community Education Foundation (FCEF) was formed to help close the gap in our school budget.
We can provide funding for additional learning opportunities, special classroom projects and “hands-on” learning experiences that may no longer be in upstate New York.
We provide funding for a number of things like: college credit courses, field trips (admission, food, travel), scholar of the month scholarship, supplies for academic programs (ie- STEM), books, robotics equipment to use in classrooms. We work closely with the school to identify unfunded needs, and support students and youth in the Franklin community to enhance their academic experience.
